Dear Educators,
Hello, and thank you for being here!
And for supporting a first-time author on her writing journey.
As a child, I was rarely without a book in my hand. When I wasn’t reading, I was inventing adventures of my own or listening to folklore and myth-inspired stories shared by my grandmother. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of storytelling.
One of the most important influences in nurturing that love was my English teacher, who recognised my enthusiasm for writing early on and encouraged me to keep experimenting, learning, and believing in my creative voice. That encouragement stayed with me and continues to shape the way I approach both writing and creativity today.
I am now an award-winning architect, and I’ve discovered that I love building worlds in two very different ways: designing real places as an architect, and creating imaginary ones through stories. With encouragement from my bookworm of a daughter, I wrote this book inspired by her - and by the stories and traditions I grew up with. My writing is shaped by a love of nature, cultures from around the world, and the belief that small, brave actions can make a real difference.
I’m always excited to visit schools and share my love of stories with young readers, especially to encourage children to be curious, kind, and confident in their own uniqueness.
I would love to hear from you if you have any feedback, suggestions, or ideas for collaboration.
Warm regards,
Arti.
